Paradise island. Kalanggaman is a 10-hectare islet belonging to Palompon, Leyte. It is just 12 kilometers away from Palompon town in the mainland, where boats are available for the 45-minute trip to Kalanggaman Island. The island has a very fine white sand beach with two sandbars that become visible at low tide.
A place of beauty and serenity. The historic city of Baybay is one place tourists must visit in Leyte. It features an old church, several ancestral homes and some historic spots. The second biggest city in Leyte in terms of land area, the 46,050-hectare metropolis is also home of the premier university in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia on agricultural research, the Visayas State University.
